Agebusters Workout

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9-10 am - September through July
  • Instructor:  Lori Harbour and Lynda Scott
  • Fee: $50/10 Classes
  • Participants enjoy a high energy class that incorporates cardio, muscle strengthening, balance and stretching.  

BASCC Bowling League

  • Fridays, 10 am – September through April
  • Facilitator:  Betty Brozic
  • Fee: $6 includes three games, shoes, and coffee.
  • Bowlers meet weekly each Friday morning at Hartfield Lanes, 3490 W. 12 Mile Road, Berkley.  Drop-inany Friday.  The $6 cost includes three games, shoes, and coffee.

Chair YOGA

  • Mondays - 1:30 - 2:30 pm
  • Instructor:  Karen Lutz
  • 5 Classes for $25 members / $30 non-members
  • Chair yoga offers improved flexibility, strength and balance, regardless of physical limitations or age. Incorporate breathing with gentle stretching and adaptive yoga movements while seated. Relax and ease tension through this gentle yoga practice.

Golf Leagues

  • Springdale - Mondays 9:30 am – May through September
  • Lincoln Hills - Wednesdays, 10:00 am – May through September
  • BASCC membership is required to play. Springdale League co-managers are Bev Weiss and Bobbie Spriggs. Lincoln Hills League manager is Patrick Callanan. Check the calendar for the April meeting dates.

Limber Up

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9-10 am
  • Enjoy modified movements to a dvd that meetd individual needs for toning, strengthening and improvement of physical, mental, emotional and cardiovascular health.  Chair and standing exercises using aerobic steps, weights, stretch bands and foam balls offer a variety of fitness options.

Line Dancing

  • Instructor: Connie Buss
  • Fee:  $25/5 classes
  • Have fun, while exercising at the same time! Learn the Cha Cha, Waltz, Rumba, Country Western Wedding Line Dances, the Hustle and many more. No partner needed.

Pickleball

  • Mondays and Thursdays, 12:15-2:15 pm - September-May
  • Facilitator:  Haim Schlick
  • Pickleball is a sport described as "a combination of ping-pong, tennis, and badminton."  This game is played on a badminton-sized court and is easy enough for a beginner, yet challenging enough for the advanced.

Stability Ball Class

  • Tuesdays, 5:15-6:15 pm. Cost for 10 classes $50 members / $60 non-members
  • Facilitator: Lori Harbour
  • Improve balance, strenthen musceles and challenge your core while lying on a staility ball utilizing weights or bands.  Must be able to get up and down off the floor unassisted.  Bring stability ball, mat, water and towel. 

Tennis League

  • Tuesdays, 2-3 pm – September through early May
  • Manager:  Barbara Weiss
  • Fee: TBD
  • The league welcomes both regular and substitute play at the Birmingham Racquet Club, 2100 E. Lincoln, in Birmingham. All ability levels are welcome – just come and have fun.  No play on major holidays.

TAI CHI

  • Tuesdays and Fridays - 10:00 - 11:30 am
  • Instructors: Taoist Tai Chi Society
  • Fee: $60/10 classes
  • Tai Chi offers effective ways to improve health, fitness, and relaxation focusing on fluid, circular movements that are slow and relaxed in tempo.  Pre-registration is required.  Call BASCC for current session dates, 248-203-5270

Volleyball

  • Mondays and Wednesdays - 12:30 pm
  • Facilitator:  Jeannie Miller
  • Players meet at the First United Methodist Church Christian Life Center, 1589 W. Maple Road, Birmingham and at BASCC during the summer months.  All BASCC members are invited to participate.
